Cash from Keywords

How To Succeed And Stay On Task With Your Internet Marketing

Working from home can get stressful. With all the distractions presented to you each day, .....

The fact that people looking to spend money use particular words and phrases in the search engines has given these "keywords" a value in this age of information. For example, if someone types in the keyword "injury compensation attorney" into a search engine they are likely to be looking for a lawyer who could help them win compensation for an injury of some kind. In many such cases the courts award substantial payouts and a percentage of this award goes to the lawyers. When we are talking about hundreds of thousands of dollars and often millions then even if the lawyer takes 20% they are still onto a huge fee if they win the case and get the business in the first place.

I just came back from the Internet Marketing Power Workshop and
wanted to share the experience with .....

So a lawyer who is active in this area may well be prepared to pay a lot of money for a sales lead and he can get these leads via the search engines using pay per click advertising such as Google's AdWords system. In this system people set up little ads called AdWords to appear on Google's search results pages and bid to get their ads appearing when a specific phrase is entered into the search box. In general, the higher you bid the higher your ad will rank on the page and the more traffic you will get to your website.

Whenever someone clicks on your ad, they go to your website and Google charges you for the click.

Internet Marketing And Advertising For The Green Industry
How do you tap into the network of online advertising without wasting your money on advertising that can bring you little results'
Advertising on the .....

Google extended this system a few years back by introducing AdSense which allows web publishers to host these ads on their own sites. In this case, if someone clicks on an ad, Google again charges the advertiser but this time it shares the income with the web publisher. Thus it easily allows publishers to monetize the content of their site.

This process gets interesting when you consider that AdSense automatically delivers ads to your site that are relevant to its content and therefore if you have a website about a valuable topic such as injury compensation you may well see ads from lawyers seeking new clients. These lawyers often pay a lot to advertise on your site which means clicks on your ads can earn you many dollars a time. If you have a website about a valuable topic, i.e. that includes keywords that advertisers are bidding highly for in the AdWords advertising market place, then you will probably attract high paying ads. If on the other hand you write about topics that are non-commercial you probably won't make much money from your ads at all.

Beware Of Internet Marketing Dream Merchants
There are so many different business opportunities available
on the Web; the never-ending stream .....

What this process has led to is the detailed anaylsis of the value of different search terms - "keywords" - and many people now sell lists of so-called high paying keywords as a full time business. Prices of keywords are highly dynamic and depend purely on the supply and demand for advertising space on the search engines and on websites. Advertisers are continually making adjustments to bid prices too which can have an immediate impact on the potential earnings from any given ad. However, researching keyword values and then creating new content on your site based around these higher value words is likely to attract higher paying ads and can be a very profitable business.

Finding your real competition on Google

Seems to me that doing a simple query on Google and then having a glance at the amount of results returned isn’t really the best way to gauge how competitive a keyword or keyphrase is. This figure represents all the pages in Google’s index which are even only a small bit relevant for the query, it does not give a fair indication of the amount of naturally relevant pages or the pages which have been specifically optimised to appear for the searched upon query.

A better way is to use a combination of Google’s advanced queries to run a much stricter search to filter out all the pages which are ‘accidently relevant’. Examples of these advanced queries include allintitle:’, ‘allinurl:’ and ‘allinanchor:’

A search with ‘allintitle:’ before it on Google will only return pages that have all the words following ‘allintitle:’ in their HTML title tags. An example is ‘allintitle:football tickets’ which returns 376,000 results, all of which have the words ‘football’ and ‘tickets’ anywhere (regardless of position) in their titles. A further restriction on this would be ‘allintitle:”football tickets”‘ which only returns 226,000 results. Notice the double quotes around the search phrase, this basically means that football and tickets have to be A) in the correct order and B) one after another. I think you’ll agree that these figures are a lot more useful than the figure returned for a basic search for ‘football tickets’ which currently returns over 55 million results, a figure which is dominated by pages which are accidently relevant and thus don’t provide real competition.

Allinurl: is basically the same kind of idea except it looks in the URL of pages and not the title. Using the football tickets phrase in conjunction with allinurl to run ‘allinurl:football tickets’ and ‘allinurl:”football tickets”‘ against Google.com returns 116,000 and 65,000 results respectively. Again these figures are both massively less than the 55 million results returned for the basic search. Pages with keywords in their URLs are very likely to be your real competiton and tough enough competition too.

A final advanced query and perhaps the most useful one is allinanchor. I know some people have been experiencing ‘issues’ with this type of search but it appears to be working for me at the moment and thus deserves inclusion. Using allinanchor: before keywords/phrases in a search forces Google to return only those pages that have all those keywords and phrases present in at least one of their backlinks, these backlinks can be internal or external. Search Engine Optimisation consultants know the power of keyword rich backlinks thus it is likely that many of the top results for an allinanchor search have had their sites/pages optimized and thus are going to be hard enough to outrank. For instance AKAMarketing.com is currently #1 for a ‘allinanchor:search engine optimisation ireland’ search, this basically means that I have loads (well more than the competition) of valuable links to my site which use the words the four words ’search’, ‘engine’, ‘optimisation’ and ‘ireland’ scattered about the text which links to me. Due to this #1 ranking you can bet your bottom dollar that my site is going to be a ‘tough competitor’ on the normal ’search engine optimisation ireland’ results, and hey what do you know I’m #1 on those normal results too. If the figure returned by an allinanchor search is in the millions get prepared for a long 15 rounder slugfest because there are lots of real competitors.

Of course the figure Google returns for any search basic or advanced is not 100% accurate but is only indicative, a good way to find a more exact number of competitors is to run one of the advanced queries and keep on skipping by 10 results pages until Google shows you the following:

In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the XXX already displayed. If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included.

XXX will / should be a fair indication of the task you have ahead of you in terms of competing sites and pages. Please share you thoughts and comments on these issues.

How to Find High-Demand-Low-Competition Keywords for Your Website Optimization, If You Want Success.

Note: Before you bein, if you're NOT 100% serious about getting your website to the top of Google, Yahoo, and MSN, don't read another word. Only read on if you plan to put everything I will be teaching you into action.

If you're anything like I was when I first began online, you've probably created a brand new website. Then submitted it to a few search engines and hoped that people would mysteriously show up at your site and buy whatever it is you were selling.

After a couple of weeks go by and only a few stray people show up at your website, you decide to try and "optimize" your website around your main keyword in hopes that you just might rank well in 1 of the millions of search engines. Another couple of weeks go by and still no luck.

At this point you probably give up and decide to either build another website around a different target market or just lose all hope and quit. Well, news flash, as you've probably figured out by now, this is not the way to go about doing things.

Let me give you a specific example of what your very first steps MUST be when creating any website... no matter what the subject matter is.

In our example, let's create a weight loss related website. Before we start creating and collecting content for the website, we need to do a little keyword research. This is VERY important and should not be skipped. To do our keyword research we need to visit a few websites.

The first of which should be:

http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/

They have a very good keyword tool, and best of all it's free! Once we are there, we can enter the most generic keyword for our website into the keyword selector tool. In our example, our keyword would be "weight loss". We get 570179 searches for the month of June 2006.

Now that’s a lot of demand for “weight loss” just on the past month of June 2006! But that’s not all. What about the supply for that hungry demand of people looking for weight loss information, pills, programs, etc?

Well, the way to do that, and by the way this is called finding your competition. Go to Google and type the following (without the quote marks “ “): "allinanchor:weight loss".

Now notice on google where is says “Results 1 - 10 of about 8,740,000 for allinanchor:weight loss” Now this is what I call, some SERIOUS competition for the “weight loss”. If you are just starting and want to use this keyword to optimize your website, forget it! Yes, demand is high, but your supply, or competition, is so high that you can’t even consider optimizing your website for that particular keyword.

So what’s the answer then? How do I search for high demand but at the same time less competitive keywords? Very simple. I can give you some off hand data but I have to tell you that now a day SEO
(Search Engine Optimization) got even easier with a new tool.

You can take a keyword with a demand of about 500 to 30,000 searches a month using overture keyword tool mentioned above. Yes you could take one which has over 30,000 searches if you have an unusual supply or competition which is lower than the requirement.

Using “allinanchor:keyword” on Google you expect to have a search result of 15,000 or less in order to say that you are on safe ground to optimize your website and rank higher, faster and easier.

Let's review this next example, look on overture down to “dotties weight loss zone” with 4777 searches last month, nice demand!, now lets see our supply or competition for this particular keyword using “allinanchor:dotties weight loss zone” on Google. Now you can see what we get: “Results 1 - 10 of about 622 for allinanchor:dotties weight loss zone” So what does this mean? You got it! GO FOR IT! 622 is so low that you are certainty going to rank high and fast doing proper use of that keyword on your website.

So there you have it. Always do Step 1 and if it is a pass, move to step 2 and if that is a pass, use it, if it doesn’t pass, go back to step 1 and find another keyword with proper demand and move on to step 2 again. Meet those two very important requirements and you will be able to start the right way. I also encourage you to find out a lot more by visiting the website below at my bio section.

Good luck on your SEO!

Easy search engine optimization tips

Descriptive title: The text on the tag TITLE should be descriptive as it’s the title shows up in search engine. The descriptive title makes clear it clear to your visitors on what to expect.

Use of graphics
If you use many graphics and flash animation in your Website they will reduce the speed of opening WebPages and might discourage visitor who are many at times impatient for not over 10 seconds especially on low bandwidth.

Tables: Over use of nested tables on a website generates a lot of html code which makes crawling of search engine spiders a bit longer than if CSS styles were used. Employing CSS also gives a site a feel of consistency.

Optimizing graphics and alt tag: Graphics when used should have the Alt tag to enable visitors who disable images to have text that is substitute or have a glimpse of what to expect before the image loads.

Spiders don’t read dynamic content and java and so they should be used sparingly to blend with textual content.

Choosing key words
Selecting keywords: Key words must be as relevant as possible to your website. If your website is about sports cars from Detroit made in the 70’s, if you choose “sports cars “as a keyword, you will be competing with multinationals who have actually paid for Ranking in search engines. A good keyword could be sports car 70s, classic cars Detroit
The easiest way to come up with good keywords is to copy the content of a page into a note pad and delete all the punctuations like, the, is, periods. You will remain with words which best describe the page as search engine spiders will see it. Overture.com have a
Tool which can be used to show how many searches have been made for a particular key word in a month.

Is it Possible to over come the google sandbox?

Newly registered domains lately are unable to be given a high page rank by search engines, more so google. This becomes a bottleneck for any webmaster to over come that. The easiest way to save from investing in ad campaigns to let the world know you have arrived, you should set up atleast three blogs with content found in your new site. This way the new website will getting links from the blogs as search engine spiders dont have a bias on that.In fact the paradox is that search engine spiders crawl more fresh content from blogs while for websites its for old domains. To support this there are even spinging software which trick the search engine crawlers that there is new content to a blog but its just activity generated by pinging. There for Links to your main website in the blogs will be a major boost,The results will be much quicker if only you dedicate sometime to post in blogs frequently.Finaly the patience surely will be paid!

Links Exchange to attract free Traffic

For a site that your keyword is 'classic cars' search for atleast 100 sites that have the keyword in the title and have a page rank of 5 or more from google and as for link exchange. If you get atleast five such sites with your link they will eneable your site to climb up the page rank as well as visitors. Some might delete your link and you be on the look out to see that the link is maintained in the exchange as long as you keep them. This is a matter of mutual benefit and so it should remain.

Blogs and site links
If you post on popular blogs which everybody does, then put a link to your site without a doubt there must be leads to your site .It is not only having original content but by even giving a comment on what others have posted. If you target a particular blog daily and post to it, the number of people coming to your site even to a new site will be noticable.Search engine spiders love blogs and for any new content being indexed its almost automatic.Comments on the blogs makes your site to be on advertisement auto pilot as comments might reach thousands even in a month.

Choosing a niche to attract Traffic

Choosing a niche to attract Traffic
Having content that is obvious to a big number of people is what is the opposite of 'choosing a niche''.To attract substantial amount of traffic to your website you should not target keywords that are appear in millions on any search engine. For Example if your Site is about Classic cars in Chicago and thats your niche, you should always try and limit your keywords to that perticular area. this is because by being general you will end up competing with multi million car makers for traffic! By Sticking to a market that is well defined and the competition for such info is not in such a high demand gurantees that atleast you can easily climb to search engine page rank in your site.
Also now that search spiders index duplicate content be aware of it and make sure that your content is as original as possible even if it is not reinventing the wheel.

Keywords and ads
To get substantial amount of income from ads placed on your site you should also try to see how much advertisers are willing to spend on the clicks. By using a tool on Overture.com you can be able to see that some keywords fetch only $0.01 per click where as others will fetch up to $10.This equation shows that the choice of keywords is the most important thing to go for incase you want to make big bucks from a few

Search Engine Optimisation

TO let the world of search engine know that your site have arrived, you need to optimise your website in a way that spiders can be able to crawl freely to your site.
There are several ways among them on page which is done on The title bar of your site. The title gives the engines a first description of what the site is about before even going to the body text. Keywords are another area to note without which your site might not be able at all be crawled without them
